Sharing the practice with others

I have been teaching yoga since 2009 every Summer Season – back from my studies in India – mostly in Calabria South of Italy but also in London, Los Angeles, Queenstown NZ and Ibiza.

In 2016 I founded the Shala Mandala in Calabria, a Summer Mysore program that has been supported by Level 2 Authorized and Certified teachers from the KPJAYI Institute in Mysore, India: Susanna Finocchi, Elena De Martin, Gabriele Severini, and Ken the Rolfer.

In 2019 I was authorized Level 1 to teach the Ashtanga yoga method by my Guru Sharath Jois and assisted him at Sharath Yoga Center.

In 2020 I moved to New Zealand where I have practiced and assisted Certified teacher Peter Sanson in his Shala in Napier consequently, I taught in Queenstown, until 2022. 

My path in the practice of Aṣṭāṅga has been a path dictated by inner and spiritual research.

We come to the practice in silence, accompanied by breathing, and in the same way, we learn, in silence.

I have received this knowledge of Yoga through the sheer generosity of my teachers and Gurus, for this reason, Shala Mandala does not look for notoriety so the “ratio” here is to deepen our sadhana, through concentration, dedication, and devotion.

Where I teach

SPRING 2024 

I will be in the beautiful Island of Kho Phangan, WHY NAM THAILAND where my dearest friend and teacher Kirsten Berg started a Mysore program over a decade ago. 

SUMMER 2024

From June to the end of August, I will be at the Shala Mandala Monday to Saturday from 7:00 am to 10:00 am (latest arrival 8.45 am).

From the 29th of August till the 4th of SEPTEMBER – Black Rock City, Burning Man USA.

 

 

Classes, Retreat and workshop

Intro to the practice

Ashtanga Yoga is an energetic and dynamic form of Yoga. Movement is synchronized with rhythmic breathing as you progress through a set series of therapeutic yoga postures.

You will learn and move step by step through the postures of the Ashtanga Yoga primary series sequence, experiencing the traditional way of learning the Ashtanga Yoga method

Led class primary

These are Sanskrit and Italian/English count classes, where the Teacher will count the inhalation and exhalation during movements of the sequence in a series for a synchronised class to learn the correct breathing within the sequence, maintain a higher level of focus and posture names in practice. Led classes have one specific start time and set duration and are only for students with an existing Ashtanga Mysore style practice.

Mysore style from Monday to Saturday and a June workshop for 3 days

The Ashtanga Yoga method is a living tradition with the relationship between teacher and student at the epicenter of its transmission going back over 5,000 years. At the root, it is a spiritual practice that purifies the heart, body and mind. Named after the vibrant city Mysore in South India where it originated, the method allows practitioners to receive individual instruction and keep internal focus.

Connecting movement and breath as they flow through a sequence of postures to create a deeply meditative experience.

The class is suitable for any ages from 12 till over 70.

Chanting every Saturday online
